Hollis Nappen Honors Wife with $400,000 Gift

A lifelong engineer whose family was among the first residents in the Walsh County town of Lankin in northeastern North Dakota has given a $400,000 gift to the State Historical Society of North Dakota Foundation. Hollis Nappen, 93, now of Bismarck, gave the gift to establish the Hollis and Theodora Nappen Dakota Kids Tree House education area in the mezzanine of the expanded North Dakota Heritage Center.

North Dakota Grocers Honor Woodmansee with Gift to Heritage Center Expansion

In recognition of its 50th anniversary, the North Dakota Grocers Association has made a $100.000 gift to the expansion of the North Dakota Heritage Center in honor of its longtime executive director. The North Dakota Grocers Association Tom Woodmansee Meeting room recognizes Woodmansee's 28 years with the group. The surprise announcement was made at the NDGA's annual convention September 12 in Fargo.

Memorials, tributes and donors honored in new N.D. Heritage Center Electronic Kiosk

The State Historical Society of North Dakota Foundation has unveiled a state-of-the art addition to the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck. The Hall of Honors Electronic Kiosk recognizes supporters and donors, and remembers Peace Officers and individuals in the Heritage Family Memorial Tribute program.

Hess Corporation give $2 million to Heritage Center Expansion, six other energy companies give another $1.35 million

The Hess Corporation has donated $2 million to the North Dakota Heritage Center Expansion project. It is the largest single private gift to date and puts the capital campaign for private donations past the required amount to begin construction. Donations by six other energy companies were also announced today, bringing an additional $1.35 million to the project.

Tesoro Funds Passport to North Dakota History for Third Summer Season

A third edition of the award-winning Passport to North Dakota History, a traveler's guide to historic sites, has been republished for this summer's tourist season with a $25,000 donation from Tesoro. It was unveiled June 8 in a ceremony at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck that was attended by Lieutenant Governor Jack Dalrymple and project sponsors.
